Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
